Udaipur sports complex to benefit athletes statewide: Rajyavardhan

Udaipur: Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Col Rajyavardhan Rathore on Sunday inspected the ongoing development works at the Maharana Pratap Khelgaon (Sports Complex) in Udaipur and directed officials to expedite and ensure quality execution of the project. Rathore said that the government’s commitment is to provide world-class sports infrastructure to athletes across the state. The minister described the complex’s development as beneficial not just for Udaipur, but for players from across the state. Rathore also participated in Cyclothon 2025 held at Moti Magri Boating Point in Udaipur as part of the National Sports Day celebrations. The event drew a large number of youth, sportspersons, fitness enthusiasts and citizens. Minister Rathore also took part in a boating activity with citizens.

Khelo India: MLSU’s Vansh Sharma Wins Gold in Kayaking

Udaipur, Dec 3, 2025 — Mohanlal Sukhadia University’s (MLSU) Vansh Sharma has won a gold medal in kayaking at the 5th Khelo India University Games 2025, held on Fateh Sagar. Vansh clinched the first sport in the K-1 1000-metre category, informed Dr Bheemraj Patel, Secretary of the MLSU Sports Board.MLSU Vice-Chancellor Prof BP Saraswat extended congratulatory messages to Vansh as well as his team manager Pratiti Vyas and coaches Rudra Pratap Singh Chauhan and Nitin Bisht. Prof Shurveer Singh Bhanawat, chairman of the Sports Board, announced that Vansh shall be felicitated by the Board on National Sports Day, August 29, 2026, and be given a cash prize.

Udaipur MP Sports Fest: Over 2,400 Participate in 11 Games

Udaipur, Dec 24, 2025 – The MP Sports Festival began on Tuesday (December 23) at various sports grounds in Udaipur. Cricket, volleyball, football, tug-of-war, spoon races, 50 and 100-metre sprints, kabaddi and other games were held across the city with more than 2,400 participants taking part in 11 different sports.Member of Parliament (MP) Dr Manna Lal Rawat and several local representatives were present to encourage the players. According to Manoj Joshi, sports coordinator at the MP’s office, the Men’s kabaddi match at Fateh School saw participation from 23 teams, totalling 300 players. All Women’s games were held at BN University, including tug-of-war, spoon races, 50m, 100m, 4x100m relay, kabaddi, cricket, football, and volleyball, with around 900 female participants. Men’s volleyball, football and badminton matches took place at Gandhi Ground with approximately 400 participants.Match Results Cricket Semi-Final: Ambedkar Mandal defeated Semari by 8 wickets. Semari scored 83 runs in 6 overs, and Ambedkar Mandal chased it in 4 overs for 85 runs with the loss of 2 wickets. Kinsukh Bhati scored 55 runs.Women’s Volleyball: Winner was Gogunda; runner-up was Rishabhdev.Gandhi Ground Volleyball Final: Sundar Singh Bhandari Mandal defeated Jhadol Mandal 25-17, 25-20. A total of 35 matches were held over two days.Women’s Kabaddi: Winner was Jawar Mata Mandal; runner-up was Nayagaon.Women’s Football: Winner was Jaisamand; runner-up was Kotda.Men’s Kabaddi: Winner was Sardar Patel Mandal; runner-up was Rana Pratap Mandal.Winners of team games will receive cash prizes of Rs 11,150 and runners-up Rs 5,150. Winners of individual sports will get Rs 2,150 and runners-up Rs 1,150 along with certificates. The event features more than 2,400 players from 46 committees across eight Assembly Constituencies of Lok Sabha. It will conclude on Thursday (December 25), on the birthday of former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, with an awards ceremony. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the winners via video conference at 11:00 am during the closing event. MP Rawat, MLA Phool Singh Meena, Vice-Chancellor of Rajasthan Vidyapeeth Prof. SS Sarangdevot, representatives from Hindustan Zinc, BJP district president Gajpal Singh Rathore, district secretary Paras Singhvi, Devilal Salvi, Lok Sabha sports co-coordinator Pankaj Borana, Women’s wing district president Kavita Joshi, former mayor Rajni Dangi, Mandal presidents Kanhaiyalal Vaishnav, Mukesh Joshi, Ruchika Chaudhary, district vice-president Jagdish Suthar and district minister Hazari Jain were present to cheer the players. Sports coordinators Manoj Joshi, officials Jai Prakash Bhawsar, Mahavir Singh, Rajkumar Sharma and Lokendra Singh are overseeing arrangements at all venues.

Udaipur Teams Excel in State Civil Service Sports

Udaipur, Jan 24, 2026 – Udaipur district teams delivered an outstanding performance at the 6th Rajasthan State Inter-District Civil Service Tennis, 8th Badminton, and 4th Table Tennis competitions, held under the aegis of the Personnel Department, Government of Rajasthan, Jaipur, in Kota. The Udaipur Women’s badminton team showcased excellent skills, securing the runner-up position. The team was captained by Dr Komal Singh Solanki (Enforcement Inspector) and included Janhavi Rathore (Special Teacher L-1), Pooja Kumari Prasad (School Education) and Akanksha Khandel (School Education). The Men’s table tennis team finished in second place. The team captain was Devendra Singh Sarangdevot (School Education). Team members included Ravindra Singh Shekhawat (Teacher), Sanjay Sharma (Group Instructor), Laxman Singh Chauhan (Teacher), Dr Nagendra Singh (SO), Omprakash Chaudhary (Teacher) and Gajendra Singh Chauhan (Additional Administrative Officer), who also served as the team manager.

Mewar–Vagad Sports in Udaipur from Jan 17

Udaipur, Dec 20, 2025 – The Mewar–Vagad Sports Festival, conducted by the Rajasthan Nursing Association, Udaipur, will be held from January 17 to 20, 2026, at the Field Club, Udaipur. The event is being organised under the leadership of Praveen Charpota, district president of the Association, and State Secretary Lal Chand Aichra.Teams from Udaipur, Dungarpur, Pratapgarh and Chittorgarh will participate in the festival. In this sports competition, a total of 22 Men’s cricket teams —20 regular teams and two Legends teams — will take part. On the Women’s side there will be 10 tug-of-war teams, six kabaddi teams, six cricket teams and 40 participants in running events.Naresh Purbia informed that the poster of the competition was recently unveiled by Dr Rahul Jain, Superintendent of Satellite Hospital, Ambamata, and Dr Nazima RV, Chief Medical Officer, in the presence of several.
